"Recycling is a society project": Introducing new ALBIS partner Aloxe

Dariusz Łański, Account Manager NCEE at Aloxe Poland
Dariusz Łański: The way we see it, the circular economy for plastics does not yet exist industrially. There are initiatives and projects, but no fully organized value chains. To address this issue and to contribute to its solution on a societal level was the core idea when Arnaud Piroëlle and Clément Lefebvre founded Aloxe in 2020. Today, we are actively trying to establish lasting, sustainable value chains as a supplier of rPET using state-of-the-art assets across Europe. This allows us to offer standardized products and secure large volumes.
What is the main challenge the packaging industry needs to master?
Dariusz Łański: Aloxe was founded on the strong belief that the plastic pollution stemming from household packaging waste, especially in the form of bottles, is not inevitable. We already have cutting-edge technical solutions to address this issue – the real challenge lies in the industrialization of the production capacity for high-quality recycled PET. Luckily, Europe is backed by a supportive legislative framework and the Plastic Packaging Waste Directive.
How do the ambitions of Aloxe fit into the larger European economic and legislative framework?
Dariusz Łański: Since the start of our activities in 2021, we have worked towards our goal to become the leading independent producer of high-quality recycled PET plastic in Europe by 2024. By the end of this year, Aloxe will account for 9 % of the European market, operating 100 000 tons of capacity in France, Italy, and Poland.
Furthermore, we specifically address the packaging industry for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), which is seeing increasing commitment of brand owners to meet mandatory European targets like the 25 % rPET in beverage bottle starting in 2025. However, we also observe more voluntary pledges regarding the percentage of rPET in products or the reduction of carbon emissions – often as part of companies’ ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) sustainability roadmap. One prominent example: the Coca-Cola Company’s pledge to include a minimum 50 % of food-grade rPET in their plastic bottles by 2030.
What does Aloxe offer to companies from the packaging industry that want to utilize these circular loops?
Dariusz Łański: Our range of food grade rPET pellets ORIGO® is designed for a wide range of technologies, such as injection blow molding for bottles, thermoforming for trays, or injection and/or blow molding for containers. We already supply the most demanding and leading brands in the beverage industry, the thermoforming industry, the food and personal care industry, and the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry.

What is the environmental potential of your rPET products?
Dariusz Łański: By moving to a resin that can achieve circular loops – for example, by switching from hard to recycled resins to ORIGO® rPET – brand owners can drastically reduce the carbon emissions of their products by as much as 85 %*. This holds particularly true for companies making a transition from virgin to recycled PET in packaging.

What does the new distribution partnership with ALBIS mean to Aloxe?
Dariusz Łański: This collaboration is a win-win situation: it allows ALBIS to rely on a trusted partner and enables Aloxe to further extend its coverage in a fast-growing market. After a successful start of our cooperation in France last year, we are especially happy to count on ALBIS as a distribution partner for large parts of Europe since 2024. Circular plastics have a bright future ahead!
