    Granula Polymer

    Granula Polymer GmbH and ALBIS have decided on their partnership: Since January 2024, the sustainable, patented cleaning granules of the GranaClean® brand can be purchased from ALBIS.

    The current distribution agreement covers all European countries as well as wider global regions.

    Since 2005, Granula Polymer GmbH, based in Groß-Umstadt,Germany, has been producing and constantly developing cleaning granules for the plastics processing industry. The ready-to-use GranaClean® granules are ideal for purging and cleaning injection molding and extrusion equipment. Their usage can significantly reduce waste and save CO2 compared to alternative cleaning processes.

    The GranaClean® cleaning granules are characterized by the following advantages:

    • No reaction (saturation) time: cleaning starts immediately
    • Food-grade formulation 
    • Non-abrasive: no damage to screw, cylinder and hot runners 
    • Running changes: the cleaning granules can be moulded or extruded, increasing the cleaning effectiveness and reducing time
    • Effective and efficient: thanks to the carefully formulated mixture of blowing agents with chemical and mechanical additives, only a small amount is required for a color or material change or for machine maintenance
    • Inert: no dangerous or odor-generating ingredients
    • Cleaning granules that have already been processed can be recycled, depending on the degree of contamination from the machine to be cleaned.

    In addition to the universally applicable cleaning granulate GranaClean® UNI, with a wide range of applications from 160°C to 320°C for standard and engineering plastics, the cleaners GranaClean® Clear, for machines that process transparent and crystal-clear thermoplastics, GranaClean® TPE/TPU for thermoplastics elastomers and GranaClean® BIO made from 100% biodegradable ingredients, as well as customized cleaners available.

    The successful results from trials, where various cleaning agents and processes were checked, convinced ALBIS to add GranaClean® to its product portfolio. With the completely biodegradable products Grana Clean® BIO, we are adding cleaning granules to our sustainable portfolio so that we can meet the growing demand for resource-saving solutions in this area too.
