Founded in 2023, Envalior is a global leader in engineering materials, providing innovative solutions for today's world. Envalior brings together DSM Engineering Materials and LANXESS High Performance Materials, two established companies that complement each other perfectly. Envalior markets an extensive portfolio of sustainable materials: in the case of Durethan® Blue (polyamide), for example, a large proportion of the raw materials are replaced by sustainable alternatives, and so the product achieves a lower carbon footprint than comparable products.
LANXESS - until 2005 as part of BAYER AG - and ALBIS have been working together in the field of engineering thermoplastics in a spirit of trust since 1966. Our cooperation is characterized by three pillars: Firstly, the distribution of Envalior products in many countries in Europe and in China. Then there is the tolling business, in which Envalior has orders produced by us and then markets them itself. And the licensing business, in which ALBIS produces and markets the products Durethan® and Pocan® itself.

Durethan® A, B
Durethan® is the brand name Envalior uses for its polyamide 6 and polyamide 66 products. Polyamides are semi-crystalline plastics whose combination of characteristics makes them particularly suitable for technical applications.
These include: high mechanical strength and rigidity; good electrical insulation capabilities; high heat and chemical resistance; good sliding properties; wear resistance; and good noise and vibration damping. They also have exceptional processability.

Profile & Characteristics
- High-gloss or structured surface quality (depending on tool surface, excellent reproduction of detail)
- High rigidity (especially fiber glass reinforced models; tensile modulus: 1,300 to around 20,000 MPa (depending on moisture levels))
- High shock and breakage resistance - depends on type and moisture levels; elastomer modification provides good toughness even with low moisture levels, and if necessary at low temperatures
- High dynamic load bearing capacity
- Good stress fracture behavior
- High heat resistance - short-term: 170 to 200 °C, long-term: 110 to 200 °C
- High wear resistance
- Good chemical resistance, especially to fuels, lubricants, solvents, and cleaning agents
- Good mechanical and acoustic damping, good sliding properties, good gas barrier properties (film types)
