SK Chemicals is a South Korean company originally established in 1969. Since then, the company has grown through continuous change and innovation into a chemical and life science enterprise. The company’s business structure is divided into the Green Chemicals and Life Science sectors.

According to its own information, SK Chemicals specialises in the Green Chemicals sector, covering copolyester, bio-based copolyester containing up to 15% biomass-derived carbon, recycled-content copolyester, chemically recycled PET, and engineering plastics. The Life Science segment focuses on the manufacturing and sales of pharmaceuticals.

Through continuous development and innovation, SK Chemicals has steadily expanded its product range. The company supplies materials for technical, industrial, packaging, and medical applications across various end markets.

    ECOTRIA®

ECOTRIA® is a transparent eco-friendly copolyester, produced with bio-modified base and 30% of recycled PET post-consumer material. As such, ECOTRIA® is PET-compatible and is certified for compatibility with RIC 1 recycling stream. Even though it contains 30% of post-consumer recycled material, the transparency and colour tone are surprisingly clear, while its slow crystallization permits thick-wall containers to be made without any loss in transparency. ECOTRIA® is just one of the green innovations made by SK Chemicals in order to provide a sustainable solution for its customers.

    Industries

ECOTRIA® can be used successfully in most of the processes in which PETG and PCTG copolyesters are currently used and retain many of the properties of copolyesters including ease of processing, excellent chemical resistance and clarity. Existing grades are recommended for injection stretch blow moulding or injection moulding. With its excellent clarity and chemical resistance it’s a perfect match for the cosmetic industry and packaging industry in general.
